Special Message to South Sudanese People World-Wide

Our Reading Is Taken From (Jeremiah 29: 17/ NIV)

“Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty says: I will send the sword, famine and plague against them and I will make them like figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten”.

Title of Our Topic: God’s Major Tools of Punishment

Some Clarifications

     From the above mentioned verse, “this is” refers to the especial declaration from God to the Israelites as part of God’s message to them through Prophet Jeremiah. “I will send” means: God will bring or cause a war to the Israelites. “Famine” means: the state where there will not be enough food or no food completely. “Plague” means: epidemic disease/s or wide spread of disease/s. “Fig” refers to a soft and sweet fruit with many seeds. “Figs that are so bad” means: rotten fruits of figs that are not healthy for human being to eat.

General Information

     The previous mentioned verse, is a part of God`s message, through prophet Jeremiah to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the Priests, the Prophets and all the people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. Moreover it was about special declaration concerning the upcoming God`s punishment for those who still remained in Jerusalem who did not go into exiles.

The Exact Meaning

Our verse of today supposed to be read and understood perfectly as follows:

1.     The Almighty God wanted to make it very clearly to the Israelites who were still in Jerusalem that let them not rely on false hope by thinking that they might live in peace and prosperity but vice versa, new punishment is on their way through:

a.       War, in which some people would be killed by enemies’ swords.

b.      Wide- spread of hunger (Famine) by which some people would die because of rare of or no food.

c.       Wide-spread of diseases (Plague) by which some people would die because of severe suffering from different types of infections.

2.     Because of the three means of God`s punishment against them most of them would die and due to their large number they couldn’t be buried. Therefore they would be left outside laying on the ground everywhere day and night until they become rotten and ended up like figs that are so bad that they would be left on the ground until they ended up.

What can we learn out of that?

     Brothers and Sisters (especially the South Sudanese People world-wide and the Foreigners who are living inside South Sudan), from our verse of today we can learn out some very important facts about three tools of God`s punishment to all nations worldwide in the past and even at the present time, as follows:

1.     Sword is a sign of killing in general and it can be in different forms such as: gang activities, rebellion against nations and governments, ethnic or tribal war, war between countries, etc.

2.     Famine includes the following: draught that affects agriculture, high prices of commodities, idleness, poverty, rareness of food, imposing of economic embargo, etc.

3.     Plague includes the wide spread of; epidemic diseases, endemic diseases, incurable diseases, etc. Moreover, the previous mentioned diseases can be empowered by; poor health facilities, poor sanitation, poverty, etc.

·        Attention:

a.     The previous mentioned things do not happen always as God`s punishment but sometimes they can happen for some reasons.

b.     God always informs some of his spiritual matured servants or children concerning most of the things that he does in their communities and in other communities or places also, including his punishment on nations. Therefore we must depend on the prophecies or revelations or perfect interpretations of the Holy Bible based on the spiritual gift of teaching of such people for conformation (Amos 3: 6 - 7)

Prayer

     My dear Father in heaven, I do thank You very much for the precious and blessed message of today because You have taught me about Your tools of punishment for all nations. Therefore, my dear heavenly Father let these tools of punishment be well known for all the South Sudanese People world-wide and to the Foreigners who are living inside South, through Your servants, so that they may fear You and live according to Your will to avoid, Your upcoming severe punishment on South Sudan; Land, People and Government, thereafter to get Your promised blessings instead.
