5. The founder of
KLGC is Pastor/ Knight Scopas Juma Kamonde, from South Sudan.
Historical Background of KLGC (Acts
7: 2 – 53)
KLGC is the fruit
of twenty (20) years of struggle, from 1996 to 2015, leaded by Priest/ Knight
Scopas Juma Kamonde, KLGC’s Founder. This struggle can be summarized as
follows:
1.
On July 1997, I had founded St. Fraser Basic School
including small Pre- School and Kindergarten at Angola Residential Area, Umbada
Province, Khartoum State, Republic of Sudan (later on the School area was
shifted into Abu Saad block no. 19, Omdurman Province, Khartoum State). In
2003, he changed the School’s name to Kenneth Fraser Basic School (for some
reasons).
·
Some of the main things we did (during the period from
1997 to 2006):
a. We have enrolled
a lot of displaced children whose parents were not able to enroll them in other
Schools.
b. Hundreds have
been graduated from this School and for sure some of them have graduated from
Universities but we don’t have exact statistic about that.
c. We had managed
to build our School in the required way from local materials including: school
fence, latrines, store, kitchen, offices for; headmaster, assistant headmaster,
school officer, male teachers and female teachers.
·
What we failed to do:
a. We didn’t have
enough seats of our own but we had borrowed some of theme from our sister
school (Tage Basic School which was located at Abu Saad block no. 10).
b. We failed to
have our own plots due to financial shortage/ deficient. Whereby, we were
operating our school in un demarcated area.
·
The main challenges:
a. Most of our
children’s parents failed to pay our school fees either completely or
partially, during my time there (1997 – 2006), due to their poor financial
situations (according to their statements to me).
b. We had faced
chronic financial shortage because of what have been mentioned above in no.
(a), as a result to that, we had faced difficulties in paying our teachers’
salaries and to provide other services.
c. No enough
donations from outside except the following: very few financial assistance for
our teachers from (Sudan Humanitarian Organization for Relief and Development:
SHORD in the year 1998) + few financial assistance inform of school materials
from (Octopus Charitable Society, during the year 2003) + few financial
assistance for the examination fees for some pupils of class eight of basic
level from one of the Federal Ministries headed by Minister Kosti Manobe from
the Sudan People’s Liberation Army/ Movement (SPLA/M) during the time of
Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) during the year 2006 + some food items and
few financial incentives for the Pre-School from certain organization.
2.
On June 2006, I had opened a new branch for the
previous mentioned School, at Abu Saad block no. 15, which was Kenneth Fraser
Educational Centre that had included; Pre-School, Basic Level, Secondary Level,
Adult Education, English Courses and Christian Education Lessons on Fridays for
Pupils and Students of governmental and non-governmental Schools. Whereby that
Centre had worked only for two academic years: 2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008,
after that it was closed due to financial deficient or shortage.
·
Some of the main things we did:
a. We have enrolled
a lot of displaced children whose parents were not able to enroll them in other
Schools.
b. Tens have been
graduated from this School and for sure some of them have graduated from
Universities but we don’t have exact statistic about that.
·
What we failed to do:
a. We didn’t have
enough seats of our own but we had been renting some of theme.
b. We failed to
have our own plots due to financial shortage/ deficient. Whereby, we were
renting our school buildings (two houses in the first academic year 2006 – 2007
and one house only in the second academic year 2007 – 2008).
·
The main challenges we faced:
a. Most of our
children’s parents failed to pay our school fees either completely or partially,
during my time there, due to their poor financial situations (according to
their statements to me).
b. We had faced
chronic financial shortage because of what have been mentioned above in no.
(a), as a result to that, we had faced difficulties in paying our teachers’
salaries and to provide other services.
3.
On June 2008, Kenneth Fraser Educational Centre was
changed into Kenneth Fraser Christian Organization (KFCO) in Khartoum–Sudan; it
was concentrating on Christian Ministry (during the period from June, 2008 to
April, 2011).
·
Some of the main things we did:
a. We have
organized open air ministries / crusades in all provinces of Khartoum state
specially in the areas populated by displaced people from South Sudan and Nuba
Mountains such as: Angola and Wad Al Bashir (Umbada Province), Abu Saad /
Fitihab (Omdurman Province), Sawraat (Kerere Province), Evangelical Church’s
Compound at Bahari Centre and Kadaro (Bahari Province), Al Haj Yusif (Sherg Al
Nil Province), Evangelical Church’s Compound at Khartoum Centre (Khartoum
Province) and Soweto (Jebel Aulia Province). Through the previous mentioned
crusades; a lot of people got saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal
Lord and Savior, a lot of people got healed and delivered by God’s power, we
have lectured and trained a lot of people in so many issues concerning
Christian life and ministry plus other blessed programs.
b. We have
organized a one month exhibition at the Evangelical Church’ compound at
Khartoum Centre on October, 2010. That program included: books’ show, lectures
and training during day time plus open air during evening hours. Through the
previous mentioned crusades; a lot of people got saved by accepting Jesus
Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, a lot of people got healed and
delivered by God’s power, we have lectured and trained a lot of people in so
many issues concerning Christian life and ministry.
c. We have
organized a one month exhibition at the Evangelical Church’s compound at Bahari
Centre on November, 2010. That program included: books’ show, lectures and
training during day time plus open air during evening hours. Through the
previous mentioned crusades; a lot of people got saved by accepting Jesus
Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, a lot of people got healed and
delivered by God’s power, we have lectured and trained a lot of people in so
many issues concerning Christian life and ministry.
d. We have
organized a one week conference about a better Christian Life on November, 2010
at the Evangelical Church at Bahari Centre.
e. We have worked
together with the other registered Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) during
the time of South Sudan Referendum as supervisors in the Polling Centers. Plus
we have participated in so many programs concerning the referendum such as:
meetings with governmental officials, workshops, community mobilization, etc.
f. We have
participated in some training organized by Sudan Organization for Non-violence
And Development (SONAD) such as: non-violence, democracy and good governance,
etc.
g. We have
organized a weekly program of prayer and fasting on Saturdays from morning to
evening.
·
What we failed to do:
a. We failed to
register our organization officially in the government and that was why we have
failed to have partnership with other organizations.
b. We have failed
to expand our activities outside Khartoum State as we have planned for.
·
The main challenges we faced:
a. Most of our
members, who were almost more than one hundred, were not serious in; prayers,
fasting, Bible study and training. As a result to that, their input and
participation in general was very poor.
b. We have faced a
lot of financial shortages / deficient because we didn’t have donations from
any other institutions except once and very few from (SONAD) during their
training for our members plus most of our members were not serious in giving
the monthly contributions.
c. We have faced a
very big financial temptation which was a loss of very big amount of money.
d. We have some
debts because of what have been mentioned in the previous challenges.
4.
On April 2011, because of the secession or separation
of South Sudan from the Republic of Sudan, Kenneth Fraser Christian
Organization was changed into Prayer and Fasting Groups Net-work (PFGN) in
Khartoum – Sudan.
·
Some of the main things we did:
a. We kept on
organizing our Saturdays’ program of prayer and fasting regularly in both;
Khartoum, Sudan (April, 2011 – September, 2011) and Juba, South Sudan (October,
2011 – 2014).
b. We managed to
mobilize a lot of Churches and Christian Ministries in both Khartoum and Juba
(April, 2011 – 2014) to organize the Saturdays’ program of prayer and fasting
to their members through distribution of sheets containing the details of this
program.

Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, a lot of people got healed and
